We have been in business since 1990 and are the leading wildlife removal service in the Triangle area. Triangle Wildlife Removal and Pest Control was started by Tad Bassett who holds a Bachelors of Science from North Carolina State University in Fisheries and Wildlife Management and also has worked with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.

Our team strives to have a positive outcome for customers but also for the wildlife removed. In some situations, animals can be persuaded to leave the premises simply by habitat modification or simple exclusion. In other situations, the animals will be have to be forcibly removed or trapped but then can be released unharmed, either on the premises or to a more suitable habitat. An example of an animal released on the premises would be an owl in the chimney and an example of trapping and relocation would be squirrels living in the attic or opossums in the crawl space. Once the animal is removed, the area of entry will be secured.

We work diligently with Wildlife Welfare, Inc. Any time orphaned or injured wildlife are encountered we get the animal to a licensed rehabilitator. During “the baby” season we have very good success of getting the females and babies reunited until all can be released in a better habitat.

If you are ever in the need for a professional wildlife removal service, please consider allowing Triangle Wildlife Removal the opportunity to remedy your situation.

Click here to read my poem about my special Coonskin Cap! Wildlife Education - Information, Advice, and Techniques for the Safe Removal of Raccoons from Attics. Wildlife removal should alway be left to professionals. However, the main problems are that if the raccoon lives in the attic for enough time, it almost always starts to cause damage - to the drywall, to the ducts, to the vents, to various new areas outside the home. In fact, when I do trap, it's often with cages bolted to the roof, in order to get the target animal. Performing an inspection requires every inch of the structure to be checked thoroughly, top to bottom. It is critical to place the trap in the right area, usually where the raccoon lives or where it enters your attic. Raccoon poisoning - Please don't try it. Please. If you want to kill raccoons, shoot them, but poison is the worst thing you can do. And it's illegal. Seal-Up: After you are 100% certain that all the bats are out, remove the exclusion devices and seal the entry holes shut. The young are born in late April - early June depending on species, and the young are growing and flightless until some time in August. But for some reason, some of the strains in bats are transferable to people, and thus most cases of rabies in the United States are due to bats. A raccoon’s most heightened sense is its sense of touch. Bat exclusion and control is extremely important to stop damages. Bats do not chew their way into structures! They only use gaps and holes that already exist, and locate them by sensing air currents and temperature. The sound is similar to a cricket or katydid noise. A bat that is out in the daylight, not active or easy to catch can be sick and quite easily with rabies. It is a small push-around unit. They are messy with food or debris they bring in, but much moreso, with their waste. You don't want to kill a beneficial bat anyway. I've never seen them work, but that's also perhaps because in the cases they do, I'm not called out. Second, you'll want to inspect the attic and repair any damage in the attic, from torn ducts to cleared insulation. Performing an inspection can be time consuming, as we closely inspect the entire outer structure. Humane raccoon removal is always our first approach. There are about 45 species of bats in the US, but only colonizing bats live in attics. The best way to target your raccoon is to use the young pups as live bait. In this group females give birth to one pup and take care of it until it can fly and fend for itself which takes several months. They can live up to 30 years apparently, though average lifespan in the wild may be about 7 years. At this time one egg is fertilized and then the female joins a maternity group. There are several types, with the most common the double spring-loaded connibear traps. Second, you'll want to inspect the attic and repair any damage in the attic, from torn ducts to cleared insulation. Read about bat prevention here. What to do with caught raccoon - You will either kill it or transport it somewhere else and release it (relocate it. I recommend the latter if it's legal, but if you must kill it, do so humanely. Opossum removal is not always necessary but sometimes it must be done. We do not use any type of traps, as bats can die from stress while in traps and relocation efforts are not successful. Though previously thought to be solitary, there is now evidence that raccoons engage in gender-specific social behavior. Below, Havahart provides step-by-step instructions to help you get rid of raccoons, as well as other useful trapping and repelling information. In the winter, the raccoon does not hibernate, but can sleep in its den for weeks. Eventually, one of the young will chatter, even just a little, and then you can track them down. The English word “raccoon” is an adaptation of a native Powhatan word meaning “animal that scratches with its hands.” Remember, it is illegal to kill bats, as most are state protected and some federally protected. They may leave temporarily but are sure to return, especially if one of their other den sites is disrupted or destroyed. Raccoon trap off of roof - If the trap fell off the roof, you didn't bolt it down well enough. Squirrel removal is necessary when squirrels have moved into your attic. These types of traps are used mostly by olde-time fur trappers. This means that during the daylight hours it will do what it can to avoid any place in your home where the light is shining. The raccoon is an animal that is at once hated and beloved for its antics. I think that the issue of abandoned baby animals is a big problem in wildlife trapping, one that many people overlook - until they hear the noise or smell the odor that is. What is raccoon eviction fluid - a special repellent fluid, made from the glands of large male raccoons - makes female raccoons afraid. Your local pro may be able to give you free advice about how to handle and clean raccoon droppings and bill to insurance. Sometimes the bats that enter the home are young ones trying to find their way outside for the first time. This can be in the form of piles of guano (bat waste) building up on the floor. Stony Hill, NC Snake Removal Services

Raccoons are the largest of these animals, so the sound is often "heavy" - more like thumping or walking than the light scurrying of a rat. Never kill snakes always call for professional snake removal first. Most are made from steel bars. How to Kill a Bat Exclusion is the more humane method and the only effective method of removing bats from your home. If you want to keep raccoons away, it's very hard, and only a few very aggressive tactics might work. Thus, the use of traps by amateurs or ignorant trapping companies often creates a bigger problem than before! If you do trap a raccoon, check for nipples! If you can see them, you've got babies up there, and they've got to be found and removed, and it's often no easy task. Last but not least, we understand how insurance companies work, and we will guide you through the process of claiming your money. It's basically a small snapping clamp device staked down in some fashion. Sometimes it may simply destroy things for unknown reasons, just like people do. Getting rid of bats in your attic can be tricky and time consuming but it can be done. Stony Hill, NC Rodent Extermination

The best chance of hearing them is at dusk, as they are lining up to fly out of the house. Novices just get so many things wrong. Rodent control and exclusion services are a specialty of ours. The methods for removal are different. A quick tip: If a company claiming to do bat work shows up for an inspection without a ladder, be cautious. You might be amazed by the damage these critters can cause. If you go into the attic often you may see signs of their residency more quickly. The question becomes, how do you go about doing that? If you are not exactly sure where the bat went you have some work ahead of you. While poison can be very effective in getting rid of any bats in your home that actually eat the poison (bats feed off live insects so nibbling on a block of poison is unlikely) it is one of the worst choices. You want someone who will crawl through the attic relentlessly to find the baby raccoons.
